The prize was awarded for his joint work with B.Sc. Nikolay Tesmer and Prof. Dr. Philipp Rostalski on “Stochastic variational deep kernel learning based diabetic retinopathy severity grading” as part of the 2022 Joint Student Competition of the Austrian (ÖGBMT), German (DGBMT) and Swiss (SSBE) society for biomedical engineering at the Biomedical Technology (BMT) conference 2022 in Innsbruck. This third prize in the student competition is endowed with 500 €.
