For his outstanding bachelor thesis "Leistungsgesteuerte temperaturüberwachte Lasertherapie der Netzhaut mittels adaptiv robuster H-Unendlich-Regelung", Ole Thomsen receives the Innovation Award 2018 of the "Wissenschaftliche Gesellschaft für Krankenhaustechnik" (WGKT e.V.). The award is split in half between Ole Thomsen and the IME.

Technik im Krankenhaus" held from September 11th to 12th, 2018, in Hannover.
His supervisors Dr.-Ing Christian Herzog (IME) and Dr. rer. nat. Ralf Brinkman (MLL) congratulate Ole Thomsen for the enduring recognition of his work on the automated laser therapy of the retina. Both his bachelor thesis and a previous one, written by Marlin Siebert, have strongly contributed to the publication of both a conference contribution at AUTOMED 2018 and a journal contribution to Automatisierungstechnik's special issue due in November, which has received positive reviews and is now awaiting a final publication decision.
