Embedded Excellence: Fahrdynamik mit KI (EEmotion)
The EEmotion project is an industrial collaboration involving key stakeholders such as the ZF Group, Infineon Technologies AG, samoconsult GmbH, Universität zu Lübeck, alongside other partners. Together, we aim to integrate AI-based methods into various modules of autonomous driving, including anomaly detection, decision-making, planning, and control. EEmotion specifically aims to optimize AD/ADAS functions using AI, with an emphasis on driving dynamics while considering safety, energy efficiency, and driving comfort. In this context, we have contributed to developing decision-making and planning algorithms using both model-based and AI-based approaches, and subsequently evaluated these algorithms in two test cases: Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) and Autopilot. Additionally, we develop a framework for using the open-source simulation environment CARLA for scenario-based testing while incorporating existing software infrastructure such as MATLAB Simulink.
